Why should I become an HRC Author?

Many reasons...


First - You get your own page on the HRC website! This page can include photos, book covers, information on you and your books, links to your website, blog, etc. - all in the middle of our brand new website (click here for a partial view of how it might look).

Unlike other romance websites, we allow for a whopping 7000 characters of text (approximately 1500 words) on each Author webpage (most only allow 500 words)! Especially useful if you have several blurbs or many reviews to display.

HRC Authors are also eligible for substantial discounts, like 50% off our normal Banner Advertising rates. In fact, if you pay for a one-year membership, and then take advantage of just some of the advertising discounts made available to members only, the savings alone could easily cover your yearly membership dues! And you'll be invited to participate in special promotions only available to HRC Member Authors (group contests, treasure hunts, etc.).

Plus! the HRC Author List (look to the right-hand side of the page) will be displayed on EVERY page and viewed by over 3,000 readers each month.

The numbers of visitors to our website will continue to grow as we grow, with top Search Engine positioning. On Google for example, out of 4,000,000+ listings for Historical Romance, HRC currently appears within the first five listings! Not to mention our paid-advertising on Google (since 2005), our ever-expanding archives, more book reviews, more interviews, and bigger and better contests.

HRC is owned by a published, historical romance author. And she understands the frustration and expense of promoting a new book. The HRC website is designed to give optimum exposure to Authors and their Books — and has been doing just that since 2003.

Unfortunately, the amount of available space for the new HRC Author Program is limited, so once it's filled, the only way to become an HRC Author is to wait for someone to surrender their membership. If the roster is full when you sign-up, you can choose to have your submitted application added to a waiting list (you won't have to apply again!), and we'll contact you once a membership is available. Of course you're under no obligation to join at any time. Memberships are granted to qualified authors on a first-paid, first-served basis.

Qualifying Authors must be published by a recognized print and/or ebook publisher (no self-published please), at least once in the following genres: Medieval; Regency; Victorian; Vintage; Western; Colonial; Celtic; Time Travel; Fantasy; Paranormal (not including inspirational and alternative lifestyles—m/m, f/f). Finally - dues are payable at the time of application (assuming a membership space is available - if not, payment page is blocked). The minimum membership is for 3 months. Substantial Discounts are available when you prepay for 6, or 12 months of membership (pay as little as $3.75 per month - see rates below).*

*Membership continues until renewal dues remain unpaid for 30 days, at which time the membership is surrendered back to HRC. Surrendered membership will then be offered on a first come, first served, basis, at the standard rates in effect at the time of surrender. Memberships are nontransferable.

$45.00 USD for 12 months (best deal - you get 3 months free!)
